The members of the Kittiwake Baptist Church’s health task force believe that our core values are sacred and we will therefore endeavor by the grace of God to be a body of believers who glorify God by obeying and living by His Word. Accordingly, we hold these six core values, which define the nature of our ministry, as being essential to the fulfilling of our mission and purpose as a church; both corporately and individually. We realize that we can’t do every ministry but the ministries we do will be done with excellence to honor Him.

  1. Service: We believe that if you receive Christ as Savior, you must take Him in all His attributes, not only as Friend, but also as Master; and if you become His disciple, you must also become His servant. (John 12:26) Therefore, we will passionately strive to serve Christ in all our ministries.

  1. Affection/ Care/ Love: We believe that as followers of Christ everyone will know that we are Christ’s disciples by the way we love one another. (John 13:34-35; 1 John 4:7) Therefore, we will, as the Body of Christ, show our affection, care, and love not only to our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ but also to those across the street and around the world.

  1. Community: We believe that unity is important because it reflects the character of God, it exemplifies what Christ came to do, and it is necessary to the health and growth of the church. (Romans 12:16-18; John 17:22-23) Therefore, we will make every effort to be a community of believers maturing in God’s Word so that we will be a loving, ministering, and worshipping community who are devoted to one another.

  1. Relationships: We believe that it is God’s desire for us to have a love relationship with Him that is real and personal and through Him build loving relationships as a community of believers. (Act 2:24-47) Therefore, we will daily pursue loving relationships that glorify God by serving others in our church family, our homes, in our communities, and around the world.

  1. Excitement: We believe that when one person becomes a follower of Christ, that even the angels in heave rejoice. Also, we believe that it is exciting to know, follow, and worship God. (Matthew 5:12; Matthew 28:19-20) Therefore, we will strive to obey the Great Commission, we will always seek to rejoice in the Lord, and we will create excitement in worship, fellowship, prayer, evangelism, and discipleship.

  1. Diversity: We believe that Jesus brings people together from all different types of social, political, and cultural backgrounds and infuses them together into a loving fellowship. (Romans 1:16; Acts 10:34-35) Therefore, we will always create an atmosphere of love and grace for all people by showing them that God loves all people and so do we.
